Beaded Cable
The item on the left is the footed "Nut Dish" in a Blue color. On the right is the footed
"Candy Dish" in a Flint color. The Rose Bowl is the same value as the Nut Dish.
Notice that the feet are different. Early production beginning in 1903 and before 1906,
had longer and thinner feet. The mould was retooled to to make the feet shorter and
with a larger ball foot. This made it easier to get the pieces out of the mould. Any pieces
with the shorter and larger ball feet were made beginning in 1906 and are usually signed.
No piece made with the longer thinner feet has been found with the Northwood signature N
in a circle. All of the Rose Bowls in Carnival Glass have the larger ball feet and are signed.

Below is shown the Nut Dish in the rare Vaseline color. It's nice to be able to show this
early color. Notice it has the longer and thinner feet.

Note: Vaseline is a color that Northwood made. It's seems though, very few if any pieces are ever
found signed. This would indicate that most of Northwood's production in the Vaseline color
was made prior to 1906. Any signed pieces in Vaseline would have been made beginning in
1906 and not made much longer after that. This pertains to Pressed Vaseline Opalescent Glass only.
