The item shown is the extremely rare "Novelty Vase"
This unusual piece combines the pattern of "Ocean Shell"
and the base of "Beads & Bark". Beads & Bark, Ocean Shell,
and Cyclone were all made during 1903, the same year the Mosaic
line was introduced. Both Beads & Bark and Ocean Shell are found
in Northwood's Mosaic line. Cyclone is not. It is believed that
Northwood created Ocean Shell and Beads & Bark by retooling
the Cyclone mold. This is the reason why Cyclone is so rare
because so few were ever made. Today there are only about 8 of these
known to exist, and are highly desirable to collectors.
