Finecut & Roses
The items shown are the footed square top "Nut Dish" and the Tri-Cornered flat "Tray".
This is one of those "Mistery Patterns". The "Rose Bowl" shapes
have been shown in Northwood ads, and these shapes pictured have
been shown in Jefferson ads. So for the items pictured I've listed the
maker as Jefferson. Northwood purchased these moulds from Jefferson
around 1907 when Jefferson moved to Follansbee, WV. Northwood used these
moulds to make this pattern in Carnival Glass lines that were introduced beginning
2 years later, around 1909. Northwood also made the Rose Bowl in Custard Glass
with a Nutmeg Stain. This didn't appear until 1915. So the mystery is solved.
Jefferson made "Finecut and Roses" in Opalescent colors until they moved
from Steubenville, Ohio in 1907. Northwood acquired the Jefferson moulds at that
time and used them several years later for their production of Carnival Glass and
some patterns in Custard Glass with the Nutmeg Stain.
