The items shown is the "Novelty Vase".
There are actually two versions of this. The first version is shown on the left. Notice the
design on the base. This version is the one pictured in early advertisements and is very
rare to find. It was advertised as a Parlor Vase. This is the only one I've ever seen.
The version on the right, is the variant and is the one that is more commonly found today.
Here's the weird part. Both vases are shown together in the same Lyon Brothers advertisement
dated 1906 shown below. This catelog did not say what colors were made but we know that Blue
Opalescent was one of them. Why Northwood made two of these vases at the same time is a mystery.
The novelty Bowl shown below is also a rather hard item to find today. It was made from the vase mold.
