The items shown are the very rare"Master Berry Whimsey Bowl".
There is only one of these known in Blue and this one is signed with
the N in a circle. On the right is the Covered Butter also signed.
This pattern is usually found with a gilded decoratation. The Northwood
advertisement for this pattern states that the Tumblers come with factory
ground bottoms. This pattern had a very short production life, c. 1908 - 1909.
All pieces made in this pattern will be signed with the N in
a circle trademark.
Note: The early catelog shown below shows this pattern and they called the line
Golden Opalescent. It's interesting that the ad says only two colors
were made. Flint (White) Opalescent and Blue Opalescent. We do know
that Green Opalescent was made in this pattern as well but it's rare. Northwood
made another pattern called Regal. This pattern was also called
Golden Opalescent. The Regal pattern was made in only two colors
as well. Flint (White) Opalescent and Green Opalescent. Blue Opalescent
is known to be made in the Regal pattern but it is rare. See Regal
