Maple Leaf

The item shown is a "Master Berry". This pattern was originally made
by Northwood in Custard glass and then later by Dugan in Carnival Glass.
L. G. Wright acquired the moulds for the Water Set, Table Set, Berry Set, and Toothpick Holder.
A Cake Stand was also made from the Master Berry mould. These were made in clear Crystal.

Referenced in the "L.G. Wright Glass Company" book by James Measell & W.C. Roetteis, page 47
the L.G. Wright Glass Company had a sheet on file that said, "New Items for 1984". Pictured
were items in the "Maple Leaf" pattern made in Green Opalescent and the color was called "Green Opal".
These items in Green Opalescent were made for L.G. Wright by the Westmoreland Glass Company.

Note: (Westmoreland had it's own pattern called "Maple Leaf". This was a totally different pattern not to be confused
with this Dugan "Maple Leaf" pattern.)

This Dugan Maple Leaf pattern had to have been some of the last patterns that Westmoreland made as they closed down in
January the same year, 1984. Not many pieces of this Maple Leaf pattern in Green Opalescent have surfaced.
To date I've only seen this Master Berry. Dugan did make one known Maple Leaf item in Opalescent colors including Green that
are still authentic and Antique today. It is the footed "Jelly Compote".
Maybe more pieces in this pattern in Green Opalescent made by Westmoreland for L.G. Wright will show
up in the next 10 to 20 years.
