About Values

Values are always a touchy situation among both collectors and dealers. In no way is
this value guide meant to set prices. Items can sell for less than what's listed here.
By the same token, items can sell for more than what is listed here. When an item sells for more,
this new value will replace the old. There are many rare items shown in my Price Guide.
Values listed for some of these items are values that were established many years ago.
Because they are so rare they don't show up for sale at auction very often so it's difficult to
establish a realistic value until one sells. Most often when a rare item does show up
at auction it is usually fought over and a higher value will be established. This new value will remain
in effect until this value goes higher. I do this for one reason only. This ensures the collector's investment
will be protected.

Does this mean that the items can't sell for less? Of coarse not. But it does keep the collectors investment
in tact. I feel this is the most important aspect of collecting.

If you paid $100.00 for an item 10 years ago and someone came along and wrote a new book that said your item
is now only worth $10.00, how would you feel? It may also be true that your item now only sells for $50.00 or $60.00
but it doesn't mean that your item is worth less than the $100.00 you paid for it. A very wise person once told me years
ago that the only time you loose money is if you sell your item for less than what you paid for it.

If this Price Guide shows the value at $100.00, it will stay that way until the value goes higher. If you paid $1,000.00
for a very rare item, who am I to say it's only worth half that.!

It's my opionion and always has been, that the collectors investment is priority one!

One thing I've noticed over the last 20 years is that most of the items shown in my Price Guide do not show
up as often as they used to. There are more collectors now looking for these wonderful items. It's an exciting time for sure.
