The item shown is the very rare 3 peg footed Bowl. It's a product of
Sowerby Glass in England. It's not shown in other Opalescent glass
reference books. The pattern name seems to be used by English
collectors so I won't confuse the issue. This Bowl has the date lozenge
pressed in the glass indicating it was made in July of 1878. These early
White Opalescent novelties are getting very had to find today and I'm very
pleased to be able to show this example. The date is also provenance for
the fact that Opalescent glass appeared in England about 10 years prior to
it's appearance here in the U.S.
