The item shown is the "Novelty Bowl". For over 20 years
I've have seen this pattern only a few times but never made the connection to
Northwood. In the book Dugan Glass by Heacock, Measelle, and Wiggins,
on page 79 is shown a color illustrated National Glass Co. catalog dated 1901. This bowl
is shown in the top row. It also states that it was Northwood's Factory 13 that made this bowl.
There has been no collector name given to this Novelty Bowl. So I'm naming it National Rib Optic
The catalog shows the item in a Canary or Vaseline color. This Novelty Bowl may also be found
in the other usual colors but I've not seen any. This bowl is rather scarce to find today.
