Stacking Shells
The item shown is the rare 7 1/2" "Wall Pocket". This is the first time I've ever seen this item.
It's not listed in any reference book on Opalescent Glass that I know of. So I've given
this item the name "Stacking Shells". It's illustrated in a 1882 Sowerby catalog below.
This piece has the Peacock Trademark pressed in the glass along with a date lozenge which
shows this piece was actually made much earlier in 1877. Also listed in this pattern, but not shown
here, is a taller six sided vase that has eight stacking shells.
It's great to be able to show this very rare "Wall Pocket".
