The item shown is the 8" tall Novelty Vase. For over 30 years
I've have seen this vase only a couple times but never made the connection to
Northwood. In the book Dugan Glass by Heacock, Measelle, and Wiggins,
on page 79 is shown a color illustrated National Glass Co. catalog dated 1901. This Vase
is shown. It also states that it was Northwood's Factory 13 that made the vase.
The name given is National's # 17. It is advertised as a Bouquet Vase.
The catalog shows the item in a Canary or Vaseline color. This Novelty Vase may also be found
in the other usual colors of Blue, Green and White Opalescent. This Vase is rather rare to find today.
