What a very attractive and desirable pattern this is. The item shown on the left
is the "Tankard style Pitcher". This shape is the same shape used for "Blown Drapery".
See (Blown Drapery). In the middle is the "Celery Vase" with a Cranberry Fritt edge.
This is proof that Northwood did make items with a Cranberry Fritt edge.
On the right is the Tankard in Cranberry.
Note: I have owned several of the celery vases over the years. The angle of the Twist design is
never the same. This means that the "Blown Drapery" spot moulds were used to make this pattern.
All the artist had to do was twist the item when it came out of the spot mould. Look closely at the
"Blown Drapery" pattern and then imagine twisting it. See "Celery Vase Comparison" photo.
The "Celery Vase" can be found with or without a Cranberry Frit edge.
The fact that it has a Cranberry Frit edge is proof that Northwood made items
with this type of applied frit. It's also found on the their (Herringbone) pattern.
One other interesting note. The color Cranberry seems to be the only color that Northwood used
as an applied Fritt to the outside edges of some of their early blown patterns.
Recently an 11" Fruit Bowl has been found in this pattern. It's the first one ever seen after all these
years so it has to be ultra rare to find. (See photo bottom row on the right)
It was made from the Pitcher mould.
